Jul 29, 2007 · It is a wideblock version of the 4G63 that is in the DSM's. While originally those engines are SOHC, the DOHC heads bolt right down onto the block. stock engine mounts are used, as is stock clutch, transmission, driveshaft, etc. Most people WAY over-complicate their 4G63 swap by using a DSM FWD block. With everything sorted out, the vehicle was tuned on the dyno with excellent results. From a Stock 3.8L engine, 300hp at the rear hubs was easily achevied and with the auto, power came on very easily and very strong. Once on the road, the road speed and the dash speed was calibrated with a GPS navigator, and everything tested out.
The Vt engine is an ecotec 147 KW engine. The engine will fit perectly into your new engine. and your looking at bout $1000 for a recondtioned engine. the power difference is bout 25 kw from a Vn engine - Vt engine. Vs series I engine is 145 KW whilst VT series I is 147 kw. The Vs series II has the same engine as a VT ser I commodore. Jun 08, 2016 · If you boost the 1.4t to 14.7psig (29.4psia) then it is roughly the same as a 2.8 liter engine with no turbo (again, this is very approximate). 3.5 / 1.4 = 2.5 and 2.5 * 14.7psia = 36.8 psia or 22.1 psig. Basically, the turbo would have to crank out 22 psi on the stock engine to equal the flow requirements of 3.5L NA.
This is probably the most disingenuous aspect of the 4B-T engine swap. We see 4B-T swap companies touting all sorts of astronomical fuel economy numbers online. However, with fuel consumption data from Cummins’ own website and a calculator, one can easily see that these mpg numbers are wildly inflated and completely impractical.
